The Global Kitchen: Morrocan Turkey Bowl

This is a low carb turkey bowl featuring warm spices used in morracan cooking and a bit or morrocan harissa. A very tasty way to do a turkey bowl.

The ingredients:
For the turkey:
  • 2 Tbsps avocado oil or olive oil
  • 1 sweet onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-1/2 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 3 tsps ground coriander
  • 3 tsps smoked paprika
  • 2 tsps dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt, or to taste
For the cauliflower rice:
  • 1 medium head of cauliflower, riced (or 1 bag cauliflower rice)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 sweet onion, diced small
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper, or to taste
  • juice and zest of 1 fresh lemon or lime
  • a handful of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp harissa
  • 1 C chopped bell peppers
  • 1/3 C feta
The recipe:
In a skillet cook the turkey first. Add all ingredients for the turkey to the skillet and cook until cooked through and well combined.
Set aside.
Then cook the cauliflower rice with the ingredients for the rice. Cook until well combined.
Add turkey to the cauliflower rice and combine.
Top with feta and extra herbs.

Notes:
I used garlic and onion powder.

I cooked these meat ahead then added at the step to combine with the rice.

I used dill and cilantro.
