Upcoming Series: The Global Kitchen coming soon!

Coming Soon!

Part 1 of a new ongoing series!

Title: The Global Kitchen

This series will feature a recipe and a review of the experience of cooking the meal including photos. My goal is to feature a different country for each of the episodes in the series.

Some of the episodes may even feature some guest appearances!

My goal is to find authentic recipes to feature.

If you know of any recipes I should try comment and let me know!

I have some plans for Japan, Israel, South Africa, Afghanistan, Ireland, Nigeria, and Greece.

I can't wait to share the recipes I find and share the cooking experience from Apey's Kitchen to yours!

Don't be afraid to take whisks!

I have wanted to try a coconut flour cookie recipe for awhile. It's low carb, about 2 net carbs per cookie. So, the other day I finally tried one using coconut flour and splenda. They turned out okay. Definitely not my favorite cookies but they were edible. I did not like the texture of the coconut flour and they did not bake the same way.

What did I learn from this...

Something I used to always think was that my cooking was not great so why put all the effort in just to fail...but, I have learned over the last few months, that it's okay to fail a bit. That's how I learn.

Welcome to Apey's Kitchen!

Hello all! I would like to welcome you to Apey's Kitchen! A place for all things cooking. Recipes, products, inspiration, events, organization, and maybe some specials like favorite cooking shows, interviews, budgeting, health, seasonal, etc.

My goal is to put up one post a week probably on Monday evenings.

A little bit about my cooking journey. First of all the name Apey's Kitchen...Apey is my family nickname and Kitchen of course! Plus it was unique so figured no one else had it!

If you had asked me a year ago if I considered myself a good cook I would say no. I never cooked. I didn't like my kitchen it felt tight like a closet and there was no space to move around. I ate out a lot and rarely cooked unless it could be done quickly in an air fryer or crockpot. I love both of those machines for different things but over the last 6 months things changed.

First, I moved to a new apartment that had a more open floor plan and a wide open kitchen plus I moved to a small town with less eating out options. Don't get me wrong my kitchen still has some challenges, like storage space, but it is much more conducive to cooking.

Second, I discovered some great new products I love (more on this to come)!

And last, I challenged myself for my goal this year to cook more. And it has been life changing! Not only have I found myself eating better (very important as a diabetic) I have found myself enjoying cooking so much!

I hope you enjoy this blog and reading about all things cooking. Feel free to participate as much as you are comfortable with. I will share recipes with you as I cook and hope you enjoy them.

Next blog will feature one of my favorite products! Burlap and Barrel single origin spices! Also...save the date for April 7th!
